Fan Insights is Now ‘Spotify for Artists’ and Available to All Artists
As of today, Spotify Fan Insights is out of beta, open to all artists and their management teams, and called Spotify for Artists. The set of tools we’ve built to help artists better understand their fans has evolved, and we’re excited to bring these tools together in one place.
In November 2015, we released Spotify Fan Insights, a dashboard to help artists better understand their Spotify listeners. We wanted to learn which data and tools were useful to artists and their teams by putting it all directly into their hands.
We’ve learned a lot over the last 17 months. Tens of thousands of artists joined our Fan Insights beta. We’ve spent time with many artists and managers, listening to their feedback and improving the product. And we’ve heard stories of Fan Insights making an impact by unlocking new touring opportunities and improving artist marketing efforts.
British singer-songwriter Lucy Rose used Fan Insights data to select Latin America as one of her tour locations — and played packed shows to crowds who knew every word to her songs. Jake Udell, founder of TH3RD BRAIN, which represents artists including ZHU & Gallant, used Fan Insights to recognize a spike in streams of ZHU & Skrillex's "Working For It". As the song reacted, his team used the data to double down on their marketing efforts to make sure that ZHU's first headlining tour was a sold out success.
Today, Spotify Fan Insights becomes Spotify for Artists. It’s a one-stop shop designed to guide you through Spotify — providing access to your audience insights and song data, plus tools to manage your artist profile. If you want to know more about what’s in Spotify for Artists, there are more details here.
With everything coming together in the same place, verification and artist playlisting are also becoming part of Spotify for Artists. Existing verified artists will remain verified, unverified artists no longer need to fill out a separate request to get verified, and artist playlisting is being simplified. There’s more about the changes here.
Existing Fan Insights users will automatically be upgraded to Spotify for Artists — so sit back, relax, and we’ll take care of the rest. If you weren’t part of the Fan Insights beta, welcome to Spotify for Artists. You can get access to your artist profile here.
This is just the beginning. We’ll continue rapidly evolving and growing Spotify for Artists based on your feedback; you and every artist on Spotify deserve the chance to build an audience, engage your fans, express yourself, and get the support you need.
