Source of streams

The source of streams graph shows where on Spotify your listeners play your music. You'll see source of streams graphs on the:

• Audience > Overview tab, where it includes more data and more sources
• Music > Songs tab when you tap into any song

Each source of streams graph shows how many listens are from:

• Your artist profile and catalog
• Listeners’ own playlists and library
• Spotify editorial playlists
• Spotify algorithmic playlists

The additional sources you’ll find on the Audience page are:

• Listener’s queue: When listeners hear your music after selecting “Add to queue”.
• Personalized editorial playlists: When listeners hear your music on playlists made by Spotify editors but also personalized for each listener based on their taste.
• Radio and autoplay: When listeners hear your music on Spotify Radio, or when your music plays automatically after listeners reach the end of an album, playlist, or selection of songs.
• Charts: When listeners hear your music on the Top 50 and Viral 50 charts in the Spotify app.

The Audience page also divides sources into active and programmed:

• Active sources are places where listeners hear your music after intentionally seeking it out.
• Programmed sources are places where listeners hear your music because Spotify or another listener selects it for them.

Note: The data from each source may add up to more than the total you see for “all active” or “all programmed” sources if your listeners play your music from multiple sources.
