Welcome to RISE, Our Newest Program for Up-and-coming Musicians

A new program to handpick up-and-coming artists we believe in.
October 24, 2017

Spotify is proud to launch RISE, a program designed to identify and break the next wave of music superstars.

Every season, we’ll handpick four up-and-coming artists we believe in and spotlight their work through playlists, promotion, video, and events to tell the story behind each rising star.

Or as Troy Carter, our Global Head of Creator Services, puts it, “Spotify is committed to supporting the careers of artists of every level, including the next generation of global superstars. RISE is a powerful platform and an investment towards the future of emerging artists and the fans who discovered them first.”

For the first batch, we’re featuring four predominantly independent and unsigned artists that we’re really excited about: the maximalist pop star Kim Petras, electro-R&B crooner Lauv, country singer Russell Dickerson, and the 18-year-old Ohio-born rapper Trippie Redd, a favorite of our global head of hip hop, Tuma Basa.

For now, head to the RISE hub to check out featured playlists on all four artists.
