New Songwriter Promo Cards and More Ways to Promote the Music You've Written
We’re expanding our suite of songwriting promotional tools, which helps fans, collaborators, and industry partners discover more about the creators behind their favorite songs.
Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Songwriter Promo Cards, a new way to share the songs you’ve written and get discovered by potential collaborators and fans.
Our newest addition to the Promo Cards site enables songwriters with active Spotify Songwriter Pages and Written By playlists to celebrate their songwriting careers on social media.
Songwriter Promo Cards are easily customizable graphics you can create to promote yourself as a songwriter and highlight the songs you’ve written. All you have to do is visit the site to get started - there’s no log-in required. Once you’re there, you can create your custom Songwriter Promo Cards in three simple steps:
SELECT: Search for the content you want to promote. You can share your songwriter profile (the generated share card will link out to your Songwriter Page) or your Written By playlist (the generated share card will link out to your Written By playlist on Spotify).
CUSTOMIZE: How do you want your share card displayed? Will it be square, horizontal, or portrait? You can choose the aspect ratio and background color from a palette of complementary options.
SHARE: You can choose one of the direct share options on the site to post it to social media. You can also download your new creation and upload it wherever you like with the link to your content the site generates.
Share the songs you’ve written on Spotify and get discovered
Since the introduction of Songwriter Pages in 2020, we’ve seen Spotify users dive deeper into some of the creators behind their favorite songs. Spotify began publicly displaying song credits in 2018, and since then, we’ve seen a significant increase in how often labels and distributors credit songwriters on their new releases — which is great news in terms of increased visibility for artists, songwriters, and producers alike. With the launch of Songwriter Pages, we have continued to evolve how your music is discovered, appreciated, and enjoyed around the world.
Get discovered through clickable credits
Labels, publishers, management companies, music supervisors, and artists at all levels of the industry tell us that they’re constantly scouring Spotify song credits. When songwriters are credited on a track, listeners can click songwriters’ names to view a page showcasing the songs they’ve written.
Spotlight the songs you’ve written // Share your compositions with the world
Your Songwriter Page features a list of your written works, and your most frequent artist collaborators. You can share a link to your page on social media or your website so anyone can check out your music, whether they’re a Spotify user or not.
Listen on Spotify
We want collaborators and fans to not just see all your music, but listen too. That’s why each Songwriter Page features a new “Written By” playlist of your songs. Spotify listeners will be able to discover these playlists via search and follow them, too.
We’re here to support songwriters, producers, and their collaborators and are proud to have partnered with some of the industry’s most notable songwriters to create Songwriter Pages. Check out the pages we’ve launched in collaboration with Meghan Trainor, Fraser T Smith, Missy Elliott, Teddy Geiger, Ben Billions, and Justin Tranter, among many others.
